I am a lawyer because I believe that justice denied is justice lost, and we all have a right to obtain justice.
I know what it’s like to live with the deprivation of justice. I was born in Cuba under the grip of a dictator. We had no rights, no access to justice. Thankfully, my parents made the courageous decision to flee on a boat, seeking freedom and justice over communism and authoritarianism. This sacrifice allowed me to pursue my dream of becoming a lawyer in the greatest country on Earth. I carry that same drive to obtain justice into every case I take on.
I became a proud Florida resident after arriving from Cuba and spent my adolescence growing up in this beautiful, sunny peninsula. I earned my bachelor’s degree in political science, with a minor in philosophy, from Florida International University. Eager to begin my legal career, I enrolled in Ave Maria School of Law and graduated as one of the youngest in my class.
Throughout undergrad and law school, I worked for law firms that defended major insurance companies. It became clear to me that, for insurance companies, people are secondary to their profits.
I knew I couldn’t defend profits over people, so I chose to represent those who have been wronged. Today, I specialize in personal injury law and have experience working on complex injury matters, including 18-wheeler accidents, amusement park injuries, car collisions, wrongful death, and trip-and-fall incidents. I use my past experience working for defense firms to gain an upper hand on the insurance companies.
Fluent in English and Spanish, and conversational in Portuguese, I connect with clients from all parts of the world. In my free time, I spend time with family, frequent the beach, and travel. My hobbies include running, snowboarding, surfing, and scuba diving. Having traveled to 45 countries, I understand and appreciate cultural nuances, which enhances my ability to serve clients effectively—no matter where they are from.
